Scotland Yard commander Adam Dalgliesh investigates the puzzling murder of prestigious attorney Venetia Aldridge (Penny Downie) in this adaptation of P.D. James's novel. After Aldridge is brutally murdered in her office, Dalgliesh and Inspector Kate Miskin (Sarah Winman) go to work. But the intrepid duo find Aldridge's colleagues suspiciously tight-lipped, and just as Dalgliesh is closing in on a suspect, a suicide derails the investigation.
