Crime-drama serial killers are always so remarkably inventive. No spur-of-the-moment slaughter; every murder is carefully planned and executed and, as is the case with Kiss of Death (a 90-minute one-off), is committed purely as a vengeful act against particular personnel in the criminal justice system. Kiss of Death was written by Barbara Machin, who gave us Waking the Dead. But, such is its gore quotient and complexity, Kiss of Death makes Waking the Dead seem like In the Night Garden.
